LEGAZPI CITY - The Bicol University just recently receives 56 units of computers from a US-based company. Venoco, Inc. is an oil and gas producing company, worth about $ 1 billion. It is an independent energy company primary engaged in the acquisition, exploitation, and development of oil and natural gas in California and Texas. BU to Come Up with Digital Multimedia Learning Modules

The Bicol University represented by Dr. Fay Lea Patria M. Lauraya has just recently entered into a Memorandum of Agreement between the Commission on Information & Communication Technology represented by Commissioner Angelo Timoteo M. Diaz de Rivera. Both parties agreed to produce digital multimedia learning modules that can be used by teachers & learners. Target audience for the said multimedia production are high school students around the country. Right now the College of Science is the lead unit in the university to undergo the project. Staff of the said unit are now having capability enhancement to ensure that BU's Content Development Core Team will be able to produce the required output as stipulated in the contract. read more...

In order to provide extensive information and sound analysis on the origin of poverty that brings striking effects on the lives of the Bicolanos and the entire region as a whole, the Bicol University through the Office of the Vice President for Production in coordination with the College of Social Science and Philosophy sponsored a Lecture Series on Bicol Poverty.
