“The different kinds of dances to be showcased today, is proof that culture does not have to be boring. In fact, looking at our culture through various dances, is actually more fun, and entertaining,” said BU Vice President for Academic Affairs (VPAA) Dr. Helen M. Llenaresas, who delivered the one of the opening remarks in behalf of BU President Dr. Arnulfo M. Mascariñas.
“It is through this that we can either enhance or develop further the culture that we, as Bicolanos, possess,” reiterated Dr. Llenaresas. To represent the provincial government of Albay, the activity was also attended by Albay Provincial Tourism Officer Ms. Dorothy Colle, who also gave the opening remarks along with Dr. Llenaresas.
Afterwards, the event proceeded to its highlight, the dance presentation of the BUGS Master of Arts in Physical Education students. Their presentation featured a variety of dance genres, from ethnic to modern, which showcased a spirit of pride for Bicolano culture. The event concluded with the closing remarks, delivered by BU’s Cultural Program Coordinator Prof. Dennis R. Mirabueno.
