Enhancement Seminar held for IPESR facultyFriday June 8,2018
In anticipation of the coming start of classes for this school year, Bicol University’s Institute of Physical Education, Sports and Recreation (IPESR) held their Faculty Enhancement Seminar-Workshop last June 07 and 08 at the new Grandstand Mezzanine of the university’s main campus in Daraga, Albay.
Being an annual affair, the IPESR faculty participated in this seminar wherein they will undergo a series of activities aimed at improving their capabilities as educators of the university. Recognizing the importance of the faculty’s readiness for this coming school year, BU’s President Dr. Arnulfo Mascariñas himself visited the IPESR and discussed to the participants their crucial role as faculty members towards the university’s path to global recognition.
As the program began, those in attendance were welcomed by the Officer-in-Charge of IPESR Prof. Carina Sales; followed by a presentation of accomplishments and financial report of the coordinators. The institute’s supply officer Ms. Evelyn Mira also discussed the procurement procedure to the participants.
On the second day of the seminar, Prof. Sales once again lectured the participants; this time about basic PE and all related concerns. Dr. Ma. Elaine Salazar, the Director of BU’s Center for Gender and Development (BUCGAD), was invited to talk about gender and development.
To make sure the faculty is kept updated in the modern methods of teaching, IPESR Associate Dean Marcia Corazon Rico lectures about the outcome-based education and syllabus review, while Administrative Officer Cynthia Dado discussed about administrative concerns.
